Brent C. Talbot is Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Music Education at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music of Gettysburg College. He holds degrees in music education and ethnomusicology from the Eastman School of Music and Indiana University. Brent is artistic director of the Gettysburg Children's Choir and Gamelan Gita Semara. Prior appointments include: Visiting Professor of Music Education at the University of Illinois and Coordinator of Music at Polytechnic Preparatory Day School in Brooklyn, New York. His areas of expertise include: discourse analysis, popular and culturally relevant music pedagogies, and music technology and media. Brent serves on the steering committee for the MayDay Group and is chair-elect of the Social Science SRIG for NAfME. He is associate editor for the journal Action, Criticism, and Theory for Music Education and serves on the editorial board of the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education.
