Dr. Colleen Sears is an assistant professor and coordinator of music education at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). Dr. Sears leads curriculum development and interdisciplinary programming for TCNJ’s Institute for Social Justice in the Arts and Humanities. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The College of New Jersey, a Master of Arts from the Eastman School of Music and a Doctor of Education in music education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research on gender issues in music education has been published in Music Education Research, GEMS (Gender, Education, Music, Society), Tempo Magazine, and The Woman Conductor.
